SURVEILLANCE IN THE UK AND ELSEWHERE – WHAT OF IT?

spy

Wherever you are in the world, you should be able to be free from spies.  But if you are not and you are lucky or clever enough to discover this is not the case, then there is definitely a debateable situation  that spying should not be one-way.  Whether it is the internet, your neighbours, your friends or your mobile phone which is inadvertently supplying information to an “agency”, you are entitled to find another agency or organisation who wants the goss (gossip)  on the people doing this to you.  And if the people doing this to you are paid, then you must find a way to object vehemently, if you are law abiding and legitimate.

The Investigatory Powers Bill is soon to make its way through the British Parliament and  hopes to “provide the police and the intelligence agencies with the tools to keep you and your family safe”.

To some, who already feel that British practices have let them down as taxpayers, including civil liberties groups, this is just another Mistake.  Tony Blair has also stated that he regrets the “Freedom of Information Act”.  However it has been very useful helping to expose peoples’ bank accounts showing fraud and hypocrisy in the British government and ridiculous claims for money for example for unnecessary journeys in high class chauffeur driven cars.  MP’s all around the UK have felt infringed upon about their expenses but this is all useful information about large sums of money frittered away unnecessarily.

Accessing information on terrorists and paedophiles as well as other serious criminals can only be for the good of all. Last year another act was introduced: The Data Retention and Investigatory Act.  It is being looked into after a European Court of Justice Ruling.

All in all peoples’ conduct is in the spotlight.  In any avenue, be it show business, politics, or everyday activities in the police or the public sphere, discovering cheats, frauds, criminals and greedy individuals who waste precious money and funds is something which needs to be reported and investigated, now and always in the future and people must not regard obtaining a profession or position as allowing  a green light to unscrupulous and illegal activities.
