At the 90th annual Academy Awards ceremony which took place on Sunday 4th March 2018, evening, The Shape of Water emerged victorious winning a total of four Academy Awards, including, Best Picture and Best Director for Guillermo del Toro, original score and product design.  Gary Oldman wins best actor Oscar for Darkest Hour, Frances McDormand won the Best Actress,  Sam Rockwell wins Best Supporting Actor for Three Billboards, Allison Janney, Best Supporting actress in I, Tonya and Peele ultimately winning the Best Original Screenplay and legendary director of photography Roger Deakins won his first Oscar.
