Turkish Airlines skids amid dense for in Nepal
A Turkish Airlines from Istanbul flight TK 726 carrying 224 passengers, skidded after overshooting a
runway amid dense fog in Nepal, forcing staff to evacuate the plane.
Kathmandu’s Tribhuwan International Airport in Nepal remained closed on 4th march morning after the accident,
as the front landing gear collapsed, causing it to nosedive on the slippery runway.
According to Airport officials “ The Airbus 330 circled for half-an-hour over Nepal before making a second attempt at
landing after the seven-hour flight”.
A Turkish Airline spokesperson Ali Genc said although some passengers sustained minor injuries, no-one was seriously
hurt and all necessary precautions have been taken for towing the aircraft out of its current position.
