Fourteen more people have died from the coronavirus in the UK raising the death toll to 36, with  38, 907 were confirmed negative and 1, 543 positive tests for coronavirus according to UK’s health department. Following the reversal of the UK government’s hands-off approach, the government is now preparing to introduce more stringent social distancing measures such as isolating the elderly for up to four months and quarantining whole families and the possibility of closing all non-essential businesses such as restaurants and bars. Prime Minister Boris Johnson will today ask manufacturers to help produce ventilators at scale in order to meet the expected surge in demand as the epidemic escalates.

According to Matt Hancock, MP, Health Secretary says shielding stage will start in the coming weeks,  we may ban mass gatherings if necessary.

A 59-year-old man  Dhinendra was mugged for his toilet roll as he was exiting a Savers shop in Haringey, North London at around 3:30 pm today when an unknown assailant ran up behind him and snatched one of the two packs of toilet paper he was carrying.

Food retailers have urged British public not to panic buy, but many are ignoring their advice and have been clearing supermarket shelves of hand soap, tins of beans and toilet rolls.

 

US adds UK and Ireland to coronavirus travel ban the restriction coming into force in the early hours of Tuesday morning. In the US coronavirus has killed 60 with over 2, 700 infected.

Italian officials say death from coronavirus has reached 1, 809 rising to 24, 747 infected. Funerals are taking place every half an hour in the Italian City of Bergamo that saw  146 death from coronavirus in a week according to a council official.

France officials say there is 120 death from coronavirus and 5,400 infected.

In India Coronavirus infected cases surged to 107 with reported deaths due to coronavirus so far.

Global deaths and infections from Coronavirus have surpassed that inside China for the first time according to John Hopkins University tracker. Worldwide infections have grown more than 86, 000 while cases inside China stood 80, 860 as of Monday. Deaths outside China have risen to 2, 341 while deaths inside China stand at 3208 as of Monday.

Australia orders all arrivals into self-quarantine for 14 days.

The Irish government has asked all pubs to close from Midnight on Sunday until 29th March including St Patric’s Day.
