Deforestation in India has surged to such an extent that wild elephants are hitting back by bulldozing houses and human habitat and coolly go back to the forest. In Kerala Palakkad, a wild elephant nicknamed bulldozer destroys at least one house and disappears into the forest. Within the last three months, the wild elephant destroyed 17 houses in Sholayur in Palakkad.

The tuskless male elephant the locals call it Mozha wreaks havoc in Solayur, Vayaloor, Pettikkal, Kathalakkandi, and Vechapathi regions in Attappadi.

Luckily inhabitants of the villages had a narrow escape from the elephant’s wrath. The elephant also destroys crops and causes a threat to human life as some people have abandoned their homes at night.

Varangapadi, Ponnamma, and Nanjan are the latest victims fo the “bulldozer’s wrath”. Here the elephant demolished their house, cow shed on Wednesday. Fearing the jumbo, the family fled to their relative’s house, and on their return the next day they found their house has completely vanished.
