Wing walker and pilot escape with minor injuries after plane crash
A wing walker and a pilot screamed for help as they were rescued from a plane that crashed into the sea during Bournemouth Air Festival. The young female acrobat was still strapped onto the top of the plane when it crash-landed into harbour and flipped upside down. In about a minute the pair managed to get out and come to surface as a nearby boat grabbed them both and took them onto the pontoon.
Kirsten. Pobjoy and Emma Broadbent with pilots David Barrel and Andy Cubin from AeroSuperBatics has been performing at Bournemouth Air Festival in Dorset before the incident yesterday.
The plane miraculously avoided dozens of yachts moored in Poole Harbour for the show, as well as the huge Sandbanks Ferry, used to take cars across the water to Studland.
According to emergency services, the plane entered the water at around 3:45pm near the Chain Ferry slipway at Sandbanks, Poole.
