A total of 1, 197 people have been recognised for their achievements in the New Year Honours list.

Andy Murray, British Tennis Star who won Wimbledon and Olympic titles in 2016 both for the second time, became world number one wins Knighthood for services to tennis and charity.

Ray Davis, Musician, frontman of The Kinks who hits include Waterloo Sunset, Lola and Sunny Afternoon have been awarded Knighthood for services to the arts.

Mo Farah, Runner, completed Olympic “ double double” by retaining 5000m and 10, 000m titles at the Rio Games has been awarded Knighthood for services to athletics.

Jessica Ennis-Hill, Heptathlete, who won gold on London 2012 Olympics, silver four years later in Rio, also a two-time world champion has been awarded Damehood for services to athletics.

Ken Dodd, 89- year-old comedian, who has been performing since the 1950s rose to fame with his “Diddy Men” sidekicks has been awarded Knighthood for services to entertainment and charity.

Anna Wintour, Editor-in-chief of Vogue and artistic director , Conde Nast, has been awarded Damehood for services to fashion and journalism.

Naomie Harris, actress, who played Miss Money penny in the Bond films Skyfall and Spectre and Winnie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom has been awarded OBE for services to Drama.

Victoria Beckham, Fashion Designer, the former member of the Spice Girls is now a celebrated designer and entrepreneur has been awarded OBE for services to the fashion industry.

Angela Rippon, Veteran broadcaster who became an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society after caring for her mother who had dementia and champions rights of sufferers and their carers has been awarded an OBE for services to Dementia care.

Baroness Shirley Williams, politician with a parliamentary career spanning over 50 years, served as a Labour cabinet minister before leaving the party to co-found the SDP in 1981. Later made a Liberal Democrat peer, she retired from House of Lords earlier this year has been awarded Companion of Honour for services to political and public life.

Jason Kenny and LauraTrott, Cyclists, British “golden couple” who got married in September 2016, between them have 10 Olympic gold medals have been awarded CBE for services to cycling.
