Five people killed in Pune where the world’s largest Covid-19 vaccine is produced.
The blaze started puffing plumes of smoke billowing from the site still under construction at the Serum Institute of India’s facilities in Pune on Thursday afternoon, which killed 5 people. The company said the production of the Oxford- AstraZenca vaccine, known as Covidshield to the locals would not be affected due to multiple production buildings that I had kept in reserve to deal with such contingencies. We are deeply saddened and offer our deepest condolences to the family members of the departed”, according to Adar Poonawalla CEO of the Serum Institute in a tweet. They are still investigating the cause of the fire.
