Wild elephant set on fire succumbs to injuries.

A wild elephant who had roamed around the Masinagudi village for eight months searching for  food and water had died after a tyre set on fire got caught on its ear.

The villagers set fire to a rubber tyre and hurled it at the elephant in an effort to chase it away form their settlement. Inadvertently the tyre got stuck on the elephant’s ear and caused severe burns and bled from the wounds and succumbed to its injuries on the way to veterinary hospital. out of injured the elephant. Vets discovered a shoulder injury sustained earlier in the week has weakened the elephant. Two persons have been arrested in relation to the incident.
