According to scientists there is liquid water that runs down canyons and crater walls over the summer months in Mars. Water on Mars exists today as water trapped in the polar ice caps and small quantities as vapour in the atmosphere and low volume of liquid. A massive ancient ocean once covered nearly half of the northern hemisphere of Mars, making is possible for the existence of alien life.

The researchers found over a fifth of the planet’s surface which was a mile deep in places and held over 20cubic kilometers of water . Mars was a warm and wet world which trickle with streams and deltas and lakes, soon after it was formed over 4.5 billion years ago.
