TIM PEAKE – BRITISH ASTRONAUT  DOING A TOUR ABOUT LIFE IN SPACE AND ITS PREPARATIONS.

Tim Peake’s touring talks on space travel go on into April 2023.  In a two-hour talk with an interval, he was at The London Palladium on Sunday 4th September where –  with videos, photographs, and a memorable accompaniment of top pop songs he engrossed his audience with his tales of preparing to be and being the first British Man In Space. He travelled with two colleagues – Tim and Uri.

Training for this “exercise” was rigorous.  It included living in a cave, camping in sub-zero temperatures, and doing underwater exercises,  which help to mimic weightlessness and he and his wife also have military backgrounds.  They have two grown sons together who are so proud of their place in the family and have a father who has made the grade and performed exercises that others can only dream of.

After six months of living docked onto the 20-year-old space station, the capsule returned to Earth in Kazakhstan – a central Asian country with a population of 18.5 million and all three cosmonauts were well and good.  The only bit this talk leaves out is the treatment and protocol for people coming back to earth after six months in space.  That is still a mystery to many of us and perhaps Tim could hint at it during his talks.

Information about docking into the space station, dietary and food activities including drinking tea in a space situation, sleeping when one is weightless – all this and more is packed into the talk. A mission to do repair work on the station is discussed which Tim did with one of his colleagues in their space suits not without its dramas I hasten to add.

As we all know, space travel is not entirely safe.  Tim and the other two astronauts on this mission spent six months in space together.  Tim’s talk is awesome and informative.  Our children and our grandchildren one day may visit space and the moon themselves.  At the moment these forays to space are in their relative infancy but growing day to day to something much bigger and more graspable.  If you fancy seeing Tim Peake’s talk, go on the website and book a ticket near to where you live right now.  The Palladium was full, The talk is touring!

ENJOY
