Coronavirus:UK passes 100, 000 testing in 24 hours

Even when the lockdown restrictions are eased, most people will be tech-dependent for a very long time, people discovered the art of zooming clients to neighbourhood WhatsApp groups, as digital platforms have become the only way for many of us to work, get fit or be educated and entertained. The lockdown and its ripple effects in the High Street are all about survival of the fittest as some small firms simply run out of cash and threw in the towel, and some larger retailers are also in administration.

After lockdown, immediate sales bounce and stores are likely to lower prices to shift stock, as many have been made redundant and are unable to spend.

Supply chains will be shorter and more resilient.

As some airlines may not survive this crisis, which means fewer flights meaning higher ticket prices. Globally 80 per cent of the flights have been grounded. EasyJet plans to initially leave middle seats empty so passengers aren’t too close to each other and are following social distancing. A trend is driven by people and businesses having less money to spend and video conferencing becoming the new norm.

It took a pandemic to show us how the governments can act when they need to and how willingly people can respond.

The arts sector will come back stronger than ever, providing an eager population with longed-for shared experiences and feel-good content, although, some audiences have found free material made available online during the lockdown.

In future social distancing is a headache for sporting governing bodies as to how can close contact physical sports, like rugby continue?

The UK’s coronavirus death toll has risen to 28, 131 after 621 more deaths were recorded in the NHS hospitals in UK today.

Researchers are to launch a new trial of Favipiravir, an anti0-viral drug produced by Fujifilm Toyama Chemicals in  Japan, which they believe could a “promising” treatment for COVID-19. Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital in London are participating in the trial, which also involves Imperial College and the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Pallav Shah, a professor in respiratory medicine at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and the study’s chief investigator said the study will target early cases of COVID-19 in the hope of finding a treatment that prevents patients from progressing into intensive care, reduces the length of their hospital stay and limits their infectiousness.

Patients with symptoms of breathlessness and fever will be approached to take part in the study before swan results even come back to ensure treatment can be given early.

Other patients will receive a combination treatment of hydroxychloroquine, Zinc, and Azithromycin, while a third group will be given existing standard care for COVID-19.

UK tests pass 122, 300 in 24 hours were sent in the post.
