Flying warehouses patent applied for in the US
In the US Amazon has filed a patent for massive flying warehouses equipped with fleets of drones that deliver goods to key locations.
Ferried by airship, the warehouses would visit places Amazon expects demand for certain goods to rocket, like fast food and souvenirs to spectators near sporting events.
The patent expands use of drones to make deliveries and the flying warehouses or “ airborne fulfilment centres” which would deliver goods at once without any traffic jams. It said drones descending from the AFS’s would not use any power as they would only cruise and hover at altitufes upto 45,000 ft (14,000m). The patent layout comprehensive plans for running a fleet of AFCs and drones. The patent was filed in late 2014.
