The Royal Hospital Chelsea is planned as a venue for The Longines Global Champions Tour next year, which visits 15 global cities.  It is known as the ‘Formula 1 of Equestrian Sport’.  This year’s tour has visited cities including Shanghai, Rome, Paris, Madrid, Miamai and Doha.  Some of the money from hosting the showjumping could go towards the Chelsea Pensioners at The Royal Hospital Chelsea.

One of the competitors is Charlotte Casiraghi who is the granddaughter of Princess Grace of Monaco.  Bruce Springsteen’s daughter Jessica is another, along with several other very high profile names.

Nick Skelton – the oldest GB Olympic Champion (Rio) at the age of 58 said, “It is extremely important that London is on the calendar of a sporting event of this calibre.  The Royal Hospital Chelsea would be an inspiring location at which to celebrate the success of British showjumping riders and for the grass roots of our sport”.

Dominic Lawson, Bespoke Planners on behalf of the event’s Netherlands based organiser said, “Our goal is to return to a central venue that is as accessible as possible to as many fans as possible”.
