Holland takes gold in new discipline not attained for them before – on the amazing bars!

Picture of perfection Sanne Wevers of Holland with a score of 15.466 won the gold on the bars at Rio.  She had strong competition from the USA, who took bronze and silver  and several other competitors who enchanted the gasping audience including France, Brasil, China, Roumania and Canada.  Scoring is very complex and marks are deducted if the performer does not maintain her strong position on the bar, moving her feet or even falling off on the 10 cms wide platform they have to perform their wonders on.   This discipline should be made more of – if any DVD’s are available of these challenging and beautifully graceful athletes, they should be in the shops now!!
