HSBC bank glitch stops salaries

300,000 bank payment have been held by a computer glitch at the HSBC bank with many people reporting they have not got their monthly salaries ahead of bank holiday weekend, some having to cancel their short holidays.

HSBC has apologised  for delays and said all payments held up would be processed on Saturday morning. HSBC has 48million customer around the world in 72 countries and 16.1 million customers in UK, blamed the fault in information used to process some of the payments from HSBC business customers and some payments of other banks customers. HSBC customers affected were advised to call 03457 404 404 for further information. In June 600,000  payments failed  to reach the accounts of RBS  customers.
