An Easy Jet Stewardess on EZY 8845 on its way from Gatwick, Britain to Dalaman, Turkey, was opening the bottle of champagne when the cork misfired and hit the ceiling of the plane which smashed the ceiling tiles and brought down the oxygen masks. After four hours into the journey the flight has to be diverted to Milan for emergency repairs. The flight was delayed seven hours  as the tourist who were scheduled to arrive at 10:30pm arrived  5:30am and Easy Jet has confirmed the incident and apologised to passengers  and said “the safety of our passengers and crew is always Easy Jet’s highest priority, we would like to apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused”.

The pilot apologizing said “ we’ve got to divert the plane to  Malpensa, Milan to have it repaired as we can fly with the oxygen masks hanging down.

This  freak incident could bring a ban of drinking champagne during the flight.
