IFFI 2017 International film festival
The 48th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2017) was inaugurated by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the closing ceremony will be done by another Bollywood superstar Salman Khan at the Dr Shayama Prasad Mukherjee stadium in Bambolim, near Panji, Goa, India.
The 48th edition of the International Film Festival of India will present films from a record number of over 30 women filmmakers and show 195 films from 82 countries over a nine-day event, including 10 world premieres, 10 Asian and International premieres. Canada will be the focus country this year. Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured with the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at the event, while the Canadian director Atom Egoyan will receive Lifetime Achievement Award.
The film festival opens with the film Beyond the Clouds from acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi and close with the world Premiere of the Indo-Argentinian co-production “Thinking of Film” directed by Pablo Cesar.
Filmmaker Muzaffar Ali will head the international jury and other juries include Festival director Maxine Williamson from Australia, Actor director Tzahi Grad from Israel, Russian Cinematographer Vladislav Opelyants, director and production designer Roger Christian form Untied Kingdom.
The festival also host a Mixed reality sidebar featuring Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in addition to a series of Master Classesand Panel Discussions featuring the who’s who of the entertainment industry, including ShekarKapur, Nitesh, Tiwari, Farah Khan and Atom Egoyam.
