Kim Kardashan mocked for birthday party on private island
Reality star Kim Kardashian West has been accused of being “ tone deaf” after celebrating her 40th birthday on a private island with a large group of family and friends. Kardashian said the trip followed “two weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine” with the photos of the event posted on Twitter, Kardashian said she was “humbly reminded of how privileged my life is”.
Although some fans praised her openness, others said the trip was “insensitive” to families separated by Covid-19 as one user said “This is so grotesque. The rich can pretend to be normal on a private island. Actual normal people are cancelling their Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
The coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 1.2 million people and has caused economic devastation worldwide.
