Kochi Metro, the newly inaugurated metro system for Kochi Metropolitan in Kerala, which includes sustainable initiatives with the introduction of non-motorised  transport corridors in the city, installation of solar panel for power and vertical garden on every fourth metro pillar and  the technology for driverless trains and is hoping to implement this in the near future,  is the fastest Metro project in India to be completed on time, which connects rail, road and water transport facilities, the first phase cost £530million ( ₹ 51.81 billion).

The 8.3-mile section of the line from Aluva to Palarivattom spanning 11 stations, was opened to the public on 17th June 2017 by Mr Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. And the further 3.1mile  section from Palarivattom to Maharaja’s College will be made operational by August 2017.

Its ticketing has adopted single card, single timetable and singular command and control, and with the help of Kochi One Mobile App which will allow the passenger to access all modes of public transportation as well as “ click and collect” feature.
