Afghanistan 124-8, 20 ov, Zadran 73 off 48,  6 fours, 3 sixes, Boult 3-17, Southee 2-24.

New Zealand 125-2, 18.1 ov, Williamson 40 off 42, 3 fours, Conway 36 off 32, 4 fours, Guptill 28 off 23, 4 fours, Rashid 1-27, Mujib 1-31.

New Zealand won by eight wickets.

 

New Zealand beat Afghanistan by eight wickets and secured a place in the semi-finals and eliminated India out.

The Black Caps meet England on Wednesday in the semi-finals.

 Afghanistan were restricted to 19-3 by New Zealand’s formidable trio  Boult, Tim Southee and Adam Milne before Zadran scored 73 off 48 to steer them to 124-8 in their 20 overs.

Daryl Mitchell fell for 17 and Martin Guptill 28, but captain Kane Williamson hit 40 not out as his side eased to victory with 11 balls to spare.

Pakistan won by 72 runs

Pakistan remained unbeaten in the knock out stages having beat Scotland by 72 runs qualified for the semi-finals against Australia.

Babar Azam making 66 and Shoaib Malik an unbeaten 54 from 18 balls, including three sixes in the final over, making him, the joint fastest half-century of this tournament, steered Pakistan to post an imposing 189-4 in their 20 overs. Shoaib Malik hit three sixes

 

Scotland could manage only 117-4 in their 20 overs with Richie Berrington scoring 54 not out.
