Manchester United win Europa League final
Manchester Untied and Ajax players and fans observed a silence as tribute to victims of Monday’s attack at the Manchester Arena before the Europa League final.
Manchester United beat Ajax 2-0 ain Stockholm and claimed their second major trophy of the season and secured Champions League football . Paul Pogba’s deflected shot put them ahead in the 18th minute and Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s sixth Europa League goal of the campaign, flicked from Chris Smalling’s header at a corner they would ass to the EFL Cup won against Southampton earlier this season.
Although Wayne Rooney made a brief appearance the game was won by Antonio Valencia wearing the captain’s armband.
